Excellent turnout for the Hare of the Dog hash!...14 total with 3 Virgins.... If your interested in being a Hare for a February hash, contact me at cr_mavis@mac.com The below XC ski hash hit "The Bulletin" and we expect a record crowd for Steeple Chaser's event.....On On....."Rule book"

The XC Ski Hash date is Tuesday, January 13th close to the full moon. It's also a day that Meissner grooms. In addition, it was also decided that in order to utilize as many of the trails out there as possible, this will be a CLASSIC ski hash rather than skate or classic since it's a small # of trails that are groomed for skating.
Here's the lowdown:
XC Ski Hash Details
When: Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 @ 6:00pm
Where: Virginia Meissner Sno-Park 14 miles east of Bend
Who: Anyone and everyone welcum (21 and over only!)
What to Bring: Sno-Park Permit*, $5 hash cash, headlamp, warm clothes, skis, ski gear
*While they may not be patrolling the parking lot at 6pm on a Thursday night, a Sno-Park Permit is legally required to park at Meissner so it’s up to you if you want to roll the dice or not!
Details
At 6:00pm, the hares should start looking at all trails leaving from the parking lot for an arrow. There will be one arrow located 50-100 yards into the “true trail” so follow that trail.
On true trail, arrows will be used sporadically and spaced out at 100+ yard intervals. Between arrows, remain on the groomed trail. The entirety of this hash will take place on groomed trails.
At intersections, you will find check marks (“O”). From check marks, drops of flour will be used to mark possible trails. False trails will be marked clearly with “YBF.” If you see a “YBF” in the trail, return to the check mark and look for true trail.
When you come across “BN” in the trail, it means you are close to a beer check so you should soon arrive upon a “BC” on true trail. When you see “BC” you are at a beer check. Beer checks will be obvious.
When you see “ON-IN!” then return to the parking lot for some post-hash celebrating.

Wankers…….The Steeple chaser hash on Sunday the 7th provided more entertainment that we expected……first off the pack was able to smoke thru the first several checks pretty fast to gain on the Hares. After a brief run on tour thru the homeless (tent city) section the FRB’s spotted one Hare (Just Danny) and proceeded with chase. Just Danny took off for a ½ mile sprint to elude them but probably was 50’ from being “De-pantsed”…..the rest of the hounds stayed at the beer check which was 20’ from a homeless man’s camp (I think we woke him up)……from there it was on to the top of Overturf Butte to the next beer check….the hounds almost gave up after 25 minutes spent look for the beer when Just Amy spotted some plastic…..a false alarm as it was a shard left over from a homeless tent….thus she was named “Premature Beercheckulation”….a few minutes later the beer was found….On-on down thru town which ended up at Bend Brewing and toasting ANOTHER Shitty trail by Steeplechaser and “Almost De-pantsed”…….stay tuned for Hash dates cumming up.
